ABOUT THE D.J. Garcia plays the vinyl of his friends, colleagues, idols, co-conspirators, as well as his own.  DJ/Producer, Record Maker, CEO - Docile Recordings & Cryovac Recording. Backstory  Garcia was raised in a small Indiana town and had to travel for art and music; which led him to fall into the midwest rave scene of the 90’s.  Settling for a few years in Indianapolis, and learning the art of DJing, it wasn’t long before he relocated to Detroit where the process of putting tracks to vinyl was in one place.  His interest in this process led to a position at Archer Record press, Detroit’s preferred record press.  For the last 18 years Garcia has crafted his own projects from conception to physical form.  He is also privileged, on a daily basis, to service Detroit’s vinyl community.   Docile & Cryovac Recordings Garcia uses Docile Recordings as a personal platform for his music.  It was started in 1997 as a group of people that organized techno music parties, then evolved into a record label dedicated to the easier minimal sound.  Docile Recordings moved from Indianapolis to Detroit where to date, he has released 31 records. Cryovac Recordings was started in 2007 as a vehicle for collaboration with artists that have inspired and motivated Garcia to move forward his production.  Cryovac is a cross section of the Detroit techno community.  Garcia has 28  releases on this label.
