ABOUT THE D.J.

Dutch Mike has been a  presence in Detroit’s Underground scene since the early 90s, deeply immersed in the city’s legendary techno culture. Growing up amidst the pulsating beats of techno’s founding fathers, Dutch Mike’s passion for the unique sound of Detroit and its iconic artists became ingrained in his very being.

Backstory 

Born and raised in the heart of a small Indiana town, A. Garcia’s journey into the realm of music and art began at an early age. Fueled by a relentless passion for electronic beats, he embarked on a pilgrimage through the Midwest rave scene of the 90s. It was during these formative years that Garcia honed his skills as a DJ, drawing inspiration from the energy of the underground dancefloors.                       Settling for a time in Indianapolis, Garcia immersed himself in the vibrant local music scene, mastering the art of DJing and cultivating his unique sound. However, his thirst for innovation and creative expression soon led him to the techno mecca of Detroit, where he found himself at the epicenter of a burgeoning electronic music revolution.  It was in Detroit that Garcia’s fascination with vinyl production took root, landing him a coveted position at Archer Record Press, the city’s premier record pressing facility. For the past 18 years, Garcia has dedicated himself to the craft of vinyl production, channeling his passion and expertise into bringing his musical visions to life.

Docile & Cryovac Recordings

Fuelled by a desire to carve his own path in the world of music, Garcia founded Docile Recordings in 1997. What began as collective of techno enthusiasts organizing underground parties blossomed into a renowned record label, dedicated to championing the raw and minimalist sound that defines Garcia’s musical ethos. Since its inception, Docile Recordings has served as a platform for Garcia’s personal projects, with 31 groundbreaking releases to its name. In 2007, Garcia expanded his creative horizons with the launch of Cryovac Recordings. Inspired by the collaborative spirit of the Detroit techno community, Cryovac has become a melting pot of sonic experimentation, showcasing the diverse talents of artists who shared Garcia’s passion for pushing the boundaries of electronic music. To date, Cryovac Recordings boasts 28 releases, each a testament to Garcia’s unwavering commitment to innovation, character and artistic excellence.
